StartLogic is a Phoenix, Arizona based web hosting company that provides service to their customers through a redundant fiber optic system using the Cox, Qwest, and ELI communications companies. The backbone system at their data centers provide service through Global Crossing, Broadwing, and UUNET.
Their hosting plans are similar to most companies. The lowest priced plan offers unlimited email, bandwidth, and disk space, free setup, and the usual offerings of 24/7 technical support and 99.9% uptime. These always sound like generous features, but they are frankly the standard claims of any web hosting company. And just like any company that boasts these kinds of accessibility and reliable customer service, the reality can sometimes be quite different.
Anyone who uses a web hosting service will attest to the fact that expecting technical support every hour of every day is just unrealistic, and having access to servers and storage space whenever you want it is a fantasy. What is more important to the serious online business owner or domain host is consistency, even when delays in service occur, as they often will.
So how does StartLogic measure up in this context? According to their statements, they are an industry leader in providing the most affordable server access, web building features, and customer support. However, at the time of this review they did have some negative feedback as far as technical support, which can be critical during a crisis. Waiting for some staffer to respond to an email or service ticket can be a frustrating experience. This is why most of the more reliable web hosting companies offer real time response options like live chat forums.
StartLogicís e-commerce features are also pretty standard, with unlimited POP3 and IMAP accounts, SSL security certificates, and features like Google web tools to optimize search engine capability. They do offer Windows Logic as an operating system for a higher rate, which some people prefer to a Linux-based system. And they feature a documentation and troubleshooting tool which may help solve some technical problems before having to submit a support ticket.
The web protocols such as CGI, PHP, Front Page and others can be found with StartLogic. These are all very useful and reliable tools in website building and data maintenance. As for other site building capabilities, they offer a page editor and publishing program and scripting software that are useful for building and maintaining a productive and growing website. This applies to the online businesses as well, as StartLogic offers shopping cart applications and a free $75 marketing bonus.
StartLogic offers the vDeck control panel, which has been widely touted as one of the more functional control panel for e-commerce. If a business requires that multiple images appear on their pages, the vDeck has the ability to support photo galleries with very little trouble. There are installation guides to help with the initial setup of the control panel which provides flexibility that many will find helpful.
Overall, StartLogic offers comparable software and server space capability, e-commerce features, and prices that are on the lower range of plans that most web hosting companies offer. Although user reviews are mixed as far as response time to technical questions and downtime problems, they do offer a money back guarantee that includes an allowance for unused services in any month. This could be seen as a stance of confidence in their services, or as a response to negative publicity from former customers.
In the final analysis, StartLogic does offer generous features like bandwidth, disk space, email accounts, and marketing alternatives for prices that are hard to match in some cases. The issue of timely technical support is one that many web hosting companies struggle with, to be fair. So it would seem that those who may be interested in starting a website and using the services of a shared web hosting company should do plenty of research on StartLogic, as well as the rest, before committing to a contracted agreement.

Hello Startlogic :) by Alexander
I am a newly registered customer of startlogic and this morning I ran into some problems with cpanel and the customer service Josh, provided a patient, warm and professional service to help me solve the problem.
Although I have not used as many as web hosting services to judge, but I think such service is quite rare on the net.
Im only a student so their low price was what attracted me in the first place :) 5 stars for you:)
The Best! enough said. by Blake
I am a novice webmaster, running my personal website as a hobby. Tried several hosts, got my refund back (with difficulties) from all of them, until I found startlogic.
Their support is the best. Uptime is great. Low priced plans. and unlimited space and bandwidth? what more could you want?
Great price, great service by Max
I have tried many hosting providers in the past. I though it was a scam to get such a low-price offer with the startlogic. I signed up for a three-year plan anyway as I was desperate to get my site up. To my astonishment, they have proved to be the best hosting providers in terms of delivering promises. Accordingly, I have decided to buy more accounts with them and to get rid of all my other expensive plans with other providers.
